Leaving Winona, MS

Today marks day 12 of my motorcycle adventure, and it was nothing short of exhilarating. I started my journey from Winona, MS, opting to skip the major highways in favor of local, smaller highways. This route, while longer, promised a more scenic and engaging ride.

The Scenic Route

As I wound my way through the more twisty and turny roads, I couldn't help but appreciate the beauty of the southern landscape. The ride took a few hours longer than it would have on the major highways, but it was well worth it. The twists and turns kept me on my toes, making for an exciting ride.

Well-Kept Lawns and Southern Hospitality

One thing that stood out to me was how meticulously homeowners in the South keep their lawns. Nearly every house I passed had a perfectly manicured lawn, adding to the overall charm of the area. It's clear that folks here take great pride in their homes and surroundings.

Hot Weather Riding

The temperature today was in the mid to upper 90s, making for a hot ride. Despite the heat, I made sure to stay hydrated and take breaks as needed. Riding in such weather can be challenging, but with the right precautions, it can still be enjoyable.

Looking Forward to the Barber Museum

Tomorrow, I'm taking a day off from riding to visit the Barber Museum, just outside of Birmingham. I'm really looking forward to exploring the collection of motorcycles and learning more about the history of biking. It's going to be a great way to recharge before hitting the road again.

Stay tuned for more updates from my motorcycle adventure!
