Day 14: Scenic Routes and Speakeasy Nights in Nashville
Leaving Moody, Alabama for Nashville
Today marks the 14th day of my adventure, and it started with me leaving Moody, Alabama for the vibrant city of Nashville. Rather than taking the interstate, I decided to stick to the state highways. This choice turned out to be excellent as it offered a much more scenic route, filled with charming small towns and beautiful landscapes.
Enduring the Heat
The weather has been relentless, with temperatures still soaring in the 90s and no sign of relief in sight. Despite the heat, the drive was pleasant, mainly because of the picturesque views and the occasional stops at local diners and antique shops along the way.
A Night Out at the Red Phone Booth
After arriving in Nashville and settling in, I decided to explore the local nightlife. I ended up at an intriguing speakeasy called the Red Phone Booth. This place is not just any bar; it has a rich history that dates back to the Prohibition era, when speakeasies were secret establishments that sold alcohol illegally.
The Red Phone Booth replicates that old-world charm perfectly. To enter, you need a secret code, which adds to the mystery and excitement. Inside, the atmosphere is cozy and sophisticated, with a variety of craft cocktails and cigars. The bartenders are true mixologists, creating drinks that are both delicious and unique. It was a memorable night out and a fantastic way to kick off my stay in Nashville.
Exploring Nashville
I'll be in Nashville for the next few days, and I can't wait to explore everything this city has to offer. From its legendary music scene to its vibrant neighborhoods, there's so much to see and do. Stay tuned for more updates as I continue my adventure in this amazing city!
