Preparing for the Trip: Testing My Rain Gear
The Beginning is Almost Here
As the dawn of June 3rd approaches, so does the start of my grand adventure. The hum of my motorcycle will soon become my constant companion as I traverse the vast landscapes of the United States and Canada. This isn’t just a trip; it’s a pilgrimage on two wheels, a journey of discovery, and a test of endurance.
The weather gods seem to have a sense of humor, though. The forecast for my departure isn’t exactly what you’d call ideal—there’s a 60% chance of rain. But every cloud has a silver lining, and this one is no exception. It’s an opportunity to put my rain gear through its paces, a trial by water on day one.
My route is set. From the familiar streets of my hometown, I’ll join the artery of I5, heading towards Eugene. The road will be my canvas, and my motorcycle, the brush. As I cut over on Highway 58 to 97, I’ll be painting my first strokes of this epic odyssey.
The first stop? Klamath Falls, Oregon. It’s there I’ll rest, with the sound of raindrops likely drumming a rhythmic backdrop against my window. But it’s more than just a place to stay—it’s the first chapter in a story that’s yet to be written.
So, as I pack my bags and prepare my bike, I can’t help but feel a mix of anticipation and nerves. This journey is about more than just miles traveled; it’s about the stories I’ll gather, the people I’ll meet, and the lessons I’ll learn. And it all starts with a single turn of the ignition.
Stay tuned, for this is just the beginning. The road awaits, and so does adventure.
